‘kidProquo has been on nothing short of a musical adventure for the last 20 years.
From being part of a duo with Deej A’ La Fu in the ‘Radio Skool’ era, holding a residency at Snafu, he has continued to evolve in the local music scene.
He was often found in many of the historic Aberdeen clubs playing his part in live hip-hop, funk, and reggae/dub acts, cutting up samples and sounds or being the backbone for MCs with instrumental beats.
Taking away the collaboration aspects of live shows, kPq began an internet radio station (The WabLab), which brought together many different styles of DJs and musicians to jam together for hours on end in many locations!
With developing media platforms, this has now become a live multi-cam streaming show that sets up wherever the internet will allow.
Over the years, the variety of his DJ sets has constantly expanded. Labels don’t stick, genres are blurred and blended. There’s a world of music that always comes through with every live show.
This is consistently matched with an ear-to-ear cheeky smile of appreciation for the music from behind the turntables, encouraging a necessity for others to groove and get involved. ‘
